The Alpenrider Area

Summer bluebird days and temperatures in to the high 20's to low 30's, thats what you can expect from the Austrian Tirol.

Alpenriders summer forte is Biking. Whether it is the mountain tracks and trails, a flat valley cruise with your friends or a day's road ride, we have it all!

Kirchberg has its own man made lake, the Badesee, which is just behind the Chalet for an afternoon relaxing swim. For a nice refreshing walk, head to the Schwarsee. It lies between Kirchberg and Kitzbuhel and is approx 45 to 60 minutes walk. Here you can have a great day in the sun and enjoy swimming in the lake with water temperatures around 22- 24 degrees.

Kirchberg town - Can be walked and discovered in a day, nice cruisy walks up the river and plenty of restuarants, coffes shops to grab soem tucker at. Take a ride up the Gaisberg for € 7 and have lunch at 1300m over looking the town.

Kitzbuhel - A nice walk into Kitz or a quick trip in the van / train or bus and you will have a great day taking in over 700 years of history. Coffes shops, restuarants, swimming centre with massage and saunas, the lift company mountain musuem, indoor climbing, theres plenty to do. Take a ride up either the Horn or the Hahnenkamm gondolas and have a walk around then a great lunch at near 2000m.

Salzburg - Trains get you to Salzburg via a great route through the mountains. You can do the "Sound of music", visits "Mozarts birthhouse" or have a beer at the famous "Augustiners Monk Brewery". A day is all thast needed here and a train fare is approx € 30 return, Shevy will sort you out with a train time to suit your plan.

Innsbruck - Trains to Innsbruck are a bit quicker than Salzburg but the cost is about the same at approx € 25 return. A great town with huge mountains each side of you, the host city of 2 winter Olympics ! Visist the "Golden Dachl" (golden roof) in the town centre and take a step back in time. Again you can do this all in a day and still be home before the sun goes down.

For the chillers - Head down to the Schwarsee lake. Here ther is a great Italian coffe shop set on the side of the lake with a great view of the Kitzbuhele Horn. Restaurants on each side of the lake serve great lunches and snacks for people looking to unwind in the sun. Bianca will show you the best coffee shops, places to chill in the sun or to pamper yourself.
